I moved to Volusia County when I was 13 years old with my parents. I grew up in this area boating, driving on the beach, surfing, acting, playing saxophone, and much more. Although I left the area when I left for college and the first few years of my legal practice, I moved to back to Volusia County with my wife, Kimberly in January 1994 with our children.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I met my beautiful, smart, and funny wife, Kimberly, in 1993 while attending community college. We married a year later. We have 3 wonderful children and two grandchildren.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I’ve wanted to be a lawyer since I was 10 years old. I started out as a workers’ compensation litigator, but I burned out. So, in 2006, I decided to change my practice area to Estate Planning & Elder Law. I love both practices. Each practice sparks my creative juices. Some days, I’m finding a way to help a family avoid a financial catastrophe from long-term care. On other days, I’m helping clients ensure that their hard-earned nest egg goes to the people or charities they want, all without unnecessary delay. What I love most is helping relieve a client’s stress; whether it’s from fear that a drug-dependent or spendthrift child will lose their inheritance, that their life’s savings will fall outside their bloodline.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Former Governor, Bob Graham, because of his integrity. In December 1982, I was in line behind Gov. Graham waiting to go to the movie Tootsie. It sold out. He was offered admission, but declined. I’d meet him at Caribbean Jack’s, because it’s got a great atmosphere.
